Water Quality tests students' ability to identify either freshwater or marine coral reef indicator organisms and their knowledge on indicators affecting water quality. The topic for 2026-2027 is marine ecology and the areas tested include: aquatic ecology, water cycle, nutrient cycling, aquatic chemistry, potable water treatment, aquatic food chains, community interactions, population dynamics and the importance of watersheds. In addition, teams build a salinometer and use it to test water quality.
