Remote sensing means finding out about something without making physical contact. In Remote Sensing teams will take a test on remote sensing and use images, such as photographic and spectroscopic information, to analyze data and/or make climate models. Some ecology/biology background is useful, as well as meteorology and knowledge of basic physics concepts. Knowledge of individual space programs and NASA satellites, in addition to the types of sensors used, is recommended. Questions about light waves and electromagnetic spectrum are often included.
